Junior Accountant

Job Overview:
SMP Consultancy is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including preparing financial documents, reconciling accounts, and supporting other accountants and team members in day-to-day activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable records.
- Assist with the processing of invoices and expense reports.
- Support staff in tax filings and audits.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Cloud Accounting systems, such as Xero or Quickbooks.
- Possession of an official warrant to work as an accountant in Malta.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
